For many years Alpha One was the foremost name in the UK for the direct mail marketing of personal car registrations.

We initiated the concept of providing a truly personalised plate; maybe incorporating both married couple’s initials, birthdates, anniversaries etc in a package that was not only affordable but backed by the “old fashioned” idea os service.  Everyone who worked with me was part of the alpha “family” – they enjoyed looking after you, the client, and even the prospect of coming to work – most days!

For everyone who worked with Alpha One, over the years, I say thank you!  All of you! 

Well, all things must change.  Everyone migrated to the internet and we remained with direct mail as it was where our skills lay.  I was aware that there was an end approaching…so, in 2005, an early “semi-retirement” beckoned and I now mainly just provide special registration numbers from my own stock.  I’ve seen a lot of changes in the last 20 years but a good number is still fun – a shrewd investment – and all the other good reasons to buy that it always was.

I am a long term member of the CNDA (The Cherished Number Dealers Association www.cnda.co.uk ), a division of the RMI (Retail Motor Industry). We have regular meetings with DVLA management which brings benefits in the form of improved legislation and transfer procedures.

If you are wondering why I have adorned the pages with a graceful lady balinese temple dancer (instead of a classy car!) – well, I have other interests too!  One is Art Deco sculptures (of which the lady is one – a beautiful bronze by Marcel Bouraine) and I am regretfully selling most of my collection as part of the life downsizing.  If time permits, I may put up a page of figures for sale?

I cannot profess much marketing skill has fed into this website – more a statement that I’m still here.  That said, please have a browse of my stock list – the numbers are “good ones” and the prices are “trade” – you will not find them at less anywhere because I do own them.
